depending on size of units will determine how many medics should be made avaliable for health of the unit.
for a squad of 8-12 one fully equiped and trained EMT,EMT 2, EMT-P or RN
for a company of 50 -100 I recommend at least 3
for a battlation of lets say 400 I recommend a separate command of medics with various disciplines if possible if not follow the same formula as the squad only more of the of the same i woulds recommend of at least 8-10 medics
During my tenor as Major of Militia -Militias of Calif or MOC as were called i long advocated a separate medical Command of which iwas appointed its commader byy the now deceased Joel wilson
for the next 8 years after appointment I strived to train as many milita as possible and going to unit aand inspecting units to see what they needed medically. Joint training under a coop plan I found was needed as well as equiping medic to operate in separate front line units to train these people I put together a basic comprehensive training program called Combat Life Saver it incorperated tactical medicine NBC defense and CPR in one 8 hour class complete with certicate of completion and certification in CPR.
